NW Governor hands school uniforms to students

Some 133 students directly affected by a double fire attack on the night of the 22nd and 23rd January 2021 have received relief materials from the President of the Republic

A consignment consisting of roofing sheets, matrasses, buckets, cartons of soap and uniforms for the students who got their belongings burnt in the fire was handed to the school officials Friday 29th January 2021 by North West Governor, Adolphe Lele LAfrique

While handing over the relief materials, Governor Lele LAfrique emphasized that those who carried out the acts will be brought to book

"Those who did this will face the might of the state. I want to congratulate the principal who was able to prevent another incident from happening in this campus"

He encouraged the community to cooperate with the school to fight insecurity "I will like to appeal to the community to mobilise and assist the security services to fight against the robbers who have shown that since the crisis started they're not fighting for the people but against the will of the people" Governor Lele LAfrique highlighted


Newly sown uniforms were handed to the students who were jubilant that finally they can go to school in uniform. The consignment of uniforms  included the students daily and official wears

Fire engulfed the boys dormitory on Friday 22nd January 2021 at about 8:30 PM and a day later, the girls dormitory consuming three dormitories and rendering some 133 students helpless

In addition to the consignment, the council of Bafut is rehabilitating the girls dormitory that was hosting students from PSS Bafut while the Bamenda II Council is refurbishing the boys dormitory

The dormitories that can start hosting student next week had previously received roofing sheets from Hon Agho Oliver and relief materials from Hon Nestus Fru Manju

While receiving these materials, the representative of the moderator, Rev. Asaha Ferdinand congratulated the state of Cameroon for the gesture and promised that it will be used judiciously for the interest of the students

The fire incident did not disturb the smooth transfer of knowledge from the teachers to the students
