Hundreds of students in some secondary schools across Bamenda II subdivision have answered present for the first day of the 2020/2021 academic year this October 5, 2020
Bamenda II Mayor and Divisional officer visited the said schools to get first hand information on the turnout on day one and to encourage the students to be astute throughout the academic year
"The turnout is unprecedented. I'm very happy to see these children back at school on day one. I wish to encourage more of them to get to school as the academic year unfolds" Mayor Chenwi Peter told the Observer
Thousands of children answered present on October 5 to give back to school packages from the Bamenda II Council
The visit to lay private and Government schools will continue on Tuesday October 6
