Abongwa Fozo at the unveiling of Haschou Kerrido


City FM radio 88.9mhz Bamenda's manager Edwin Abongwa Fozo has been appointed Secretary General of reigning champions of Cameroon PWD social club of Bamenda. 

This is contained in a communique, signed by president Abunde Pascal, Saturday, 12 September, 2020. 

The former Chief of Programs for Afrique Nouvelle FM radio was the Team Press Officer for the club during the 2019/2020 football season which saw the Akwa Boys break the over 58 years stalemate to win it's first silver wear 

His determination and activeness in the club, coupled with his talent and experience in the world of sports as a journalist prompted his appointment as he hands over to Afeseh Apongnwu 


The 42-year-old journalist has been the Chief of Programs for Afrique Nouvelle, Former station Manager of Rush FM and Santa Meteo. He is currently President of the Association of Cultural Journalists. 

As Team Press Officer of PWD the club won the Cameroon Elite one championship and qualified for CAF Champions League, the first time in 16 years. PWD completed the league with 47 points after 28 matches played. 

Abongwa Fozo has been a sports reporter and an editor. And will serve more in the club coupled with his longevity in service. 

The appointments saw the outgoing SG, Aliwoh Francis appointed as Sporting Director, Chessi Nicasius as Public Relations Officer, Afeseh Apongnwu as new Team Press Officer and Jerebin Oumarou maintained as Team Manager. 

The Abakwa Boys will begin preparations for the CAF Champions league in a friendly in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea at the close of September
