North West Receives Presidential Aid to curb COVID-19



The North West Region has received four truckloads of items from the President of the Republic destined curb the spread the coronavirus in the North West

The reception exercise Thursday April 30th 2020, took place at the esplanade of the Governor's office for onward distribution to all the 34 council areas of the Region

On hand to receive the items were North West secretary General, Viang Mekala who assured the population that the gift will be fairly distributed

"It is with joy and enthusiasm that we just received this assistance from the head of state to benefit the region. On behalf of the entire population we thank the head of state for his magnanimity. We'll begin distribution tomorrow in all seven divisions. It should be noted that after we took some measures against Covid-19 in the region, the people complained of the absence of means to get the masks, sanitizers etc. Now that they're here they should make good use of it.."


1870 tablets of soap, 1020 containers of hand sanitizers, 6800 buckets and 34000 masks will be distributed in the days ahead

Tchuente Gilbert, Director of civil protection at the Ministry of Territorial Administration handed the gifts to the Region


The consignment is part of President Biya's two billion gift to all 360 subdivisions of the North West to curb the spread of the coronavirus

The North West Region counts a total of 5 confirmed cases of the virus
