Bamenda City council poised to fight coronavirus Head-on



The Mayor of the Bamenda City Council, Paul Achobong has called on the population of Bamenda to work hand in hand with the council to fight the coronavirus.

He was speaking in a meeting that brought together market masters with other stakeholders of the business community in Bamenda.

Henceforth, Bamenda main market, Food Market, Nkwen Market and the Bamenda commercial Avenue will carry out a special clean-up campaign this Wednesday and Thursday.


As the clean-up campaign unfolds in Bamenda, tankers filled with disinfectants will be used to disinfect the markets and the Bamenda commercial avenue.

Garbage is systematically being cleared off the streets of Bamenda with the old town neighbourhood being cleared.

The City Mayor has also created a special fund to help citizens who may contract the coronavirus in the city.

Cameroon is closing in on 200 cases of the coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country.
