The CPDM Subsection President of Awing I called for continuous mobilisation, skills development and greater youth participation in party affairs, he also urged them to be patient while reminding them to be ready for any future engagement
Alombah Anderson Akondi, CPDM Subsection President of Awing I, has called on young militants of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) to promote unity, discipline and community service while preparing for future leadership responsibilities.
He made the call during the YCPDM Mezam II Section Conference in Santa, 24th October 2026. He presented on the theme, “Youths as Flag Bearers and Guarantors of the Present and Future of the CPDM Party.”
Alombah Akondi said young people should not be regarded only as leaders of tomorrow but as active contributors to political, economic and social development today.
He urged them to represent the party responsibly, promote peaceful dialogue and avoid spreading unverified information, particularly on social media. He also stressed that youth mobilisation should continue beyond election campaigns, with young militants engaging their peers and contributing to community development.
To strengthen youth participation, Alombah Akondi proposed five initiatives: continuous mobilisation across villages and neighbourhoods, leadership and skills-development workshops, community service programmes, responsible digital communication, and a mechanism for young members to contribute ideas and assess progress.
He encouraged young people to develop skills in entrepreneurship, public administration and digital technology to prepare for greater responsibilities.
On cooperation between generations, Akondi urged youths to learn from experienced party leaders while contributing fresh ideas and innovation. He said respect for seniority should go hand in hand with meaningful opportunities for young people to take on responsibilities.
His address came as CPDM youths in Santa pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections. The conference was chaired by YCPDM Section President for Mezam II-Santa, Tandong Iris Zoum, and attended by the National YCPDM President Auguste Essomba, party officials and other stakeholders.
Alombah Akondi called for his proposals to be translated into a practical action plan with clear responsibilities and timelines.
