Road Rehabilitation Tops Agenda as Kedjom Ketinguh Delegation Meets Public Works Minister

Hon Agho Oliver, KEKULDA Executive meet Public Works Minister

On July 2nd 2026, a delegation from Kedjom Ketinguh, led by the Member of Parliament for the Bafut/Tubah Constituency, Hon. Agho Oliver Bamjuh, was received in audience by the Minister of Public Works, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, in Yaoundé. The meeting served as both an expression of appreciation for the Government’s ongoing investments in road infrastructure across the North West Region and an opportunity to advocate for improved road connectivity within Kedjom Ketinguh and its neighboring communities.

The delegation acknowledged the progress made in recent years in developing and rehabilitating access roads in the North West Region, particularly around Bamenda.

They noted that improved road infrastructure has enhanced the movement of people and goods, stimulated economic activities, and contributed to local development despite the security challenges that have affected the region.

Building on this appreciation, the delegation presented the road infrastructure needs of Kedjom Ketinguh, calling for Government support to rehabilitate existing roads and construct new ones within the village.

Particular emphasis was placed on opening and improving strategic road links connecting Kedjom Ketinguh to neighboring communities, a move expected to facilitate agricultural production, improve access to markets, education and healthcare services, strengthen social cohesion, and promote broader economic growth.

During the audience, Hon. Agho Oliver Bamjuh articulated the developmental priorities of the community and strongly advocated for the inclusion of Kedjom Ketinguh’s road projects in the Government’s infrastructure development agenda. The delegation also formally presented a sealed letter from His Majesty the Fon of Kedjom Ketinguh to the Minister.

While the contents of the letter were not disclosed, it is understood that it addressed the community’s road infrastructure priorities and reinforced the appeal for Government intervention. Hon. Bamjuh’s presentation and engagement reportedly received a positive response from the Minister, who assured the delegation that Kedjom Ketinguh and its surrounding areas would receive due attention in the Government’s future road development plans.

The Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to expanding and modernizing road infrastructure across the country in line with the development vision of the Head of State, emphasizing that improved road connectivity remains a key driver of economic integration and sustainable development.

The delegation comprised Hon. Agho Oliver Bamjuh, Member of Parliament for the Bafut/Tubah Constituency; Chieufoin Augustine Tamabang, National President of KEKCULDA; Tiihghong Finighang Thomas Vefieh, Adviser to KEKCULDA; and Ngwonam Denis Ngwonam, Chairman of the KEKCULDA Education Committee. The delegation expressed optimism that the discussions would translate into tangible road infrastructure projects that would accelerate the socio-economic development of Kedjom Ketinguh and its neighboring communities.
