ART Director General Professor Philemon Zoo Zame met MTN Cameroon leadership on April 13, 2026, to assess 2025 network investments and discuss 2026 plans for Cameroon’s telecom sector.
MTN CEO Wanda Matandela said the dialogue helps align on operational challenges and tech ambitions. MTN’s 2026 focus: expand coverage, harden infrastructure, lift service quality, and scale inclusive digital access.
ART confirmed MTN executed its planned 2025 upgrades to core and access networks. Still, Zoo Zame flagged that power outages and inter-operator issues affect service, despite MTN’s solar and battery rollout. He urged that all investments must show in customers’ daily experience and proposed regular ART-operator technical meetings.
