Councillors of Bamenda III Council have adopted the 2025 Administrative, Management and Stores Accounts of the council with a 100 percent approval.

The accounts were validated during a council session held on Wednesday, March 31, 2026, at the council premises.

Presiding over the session, the Mayor of Bamenda III, Fongu Cletus Tanwie, outlined the financial performance of the council, highlighting key achievements recorded during the 2025 financial year.

A major highlight was the completion of the Ntasen Market. The facility now has water and electricity and will be handed over to traders very soon.  Security arrangements are also being put in place. Stall fees have been fixed at 15,000 FCFA per month.

With the market set to go operational, the Divisional Officer of Bamenda III, Austin Sakah, warned that roadside trading at Foncha Street and areas such below Foncha will no longer be tolerated.

Councillors representing culture, youth and women committee appreciated the council for organizing a holiday championship, which they said helped engage young people positively.

However, concerns were raised during the session. Councillors expressed dissatisfaction over the failure of the City Council to pay its subsidies to Bamenda III Council.

The Divisional Delegate of MINDDEVEL assured councillors that the issue would be addressed and the City Mayor reminded of his obligations.

Another major concern was electricity supply. Councillors noted that residents continue to receive bills even when power is unavailable due to faulty transformers and prolonged outages. In response, the Mayor said the issue would be transmitted to the appropriate authorities.

The session ended with calls for stronger collaboration between the council, the population, and state authorities to sustain development efforts in Bamenda III.
