Senator Enwe Francis Abi has been recognized by Lifetime Newspaper as a Torch Bearer in Peace Building and Development during the Lifetime Achievement Awards held in Bamenda on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The award highlights his continuous efforts in promoting peace, reconciliation, and development, especially in Widikum Subdivision and across Momo Division, areas that have been deeply affected by the ongoing crisis.
Over the years, Senator Enwe has played a key role in peace initiatives, bringing together communities, encouraging dialogue, and calling on armed groups to lay down their weapons and embrace reconciliation. In previous peace efforts in Widikum, he urged communities to forgive each other and “build a brighter future together,” helping to foster peaceful cohabitation in the area.
He has also worked closely with youths, encouraging them to reject violence and take part in rebuilding their communities. His efforts have contributed to the surrender of some fighters and the gradual return of normal life in parts of the division.
In receiving the award, Senator Enwe expressed gratitude but made it clear that the recognition goes beyond him.
“I salute this recognition and I dedicate it to all the boys who yielded to the call of the Head of State and accepted to lay down their arms.”
He extended the dedication to the wider community:
“I also dedicate it to all the peace-loving people of Widikum, Momo, North West and South West Regions. All who took part in the peace process initiatives are not left behind. It is our award.”
His message reflects a strong belief that peace is a shared responsibility and that progress can only come through unity.

In 2025, the senator was also recognized as a Peace Ambassador and Role Model for North West youth, further confirming his commitment to guiding young people to stay away from violence and move towards development.
Beyond peacebuilding, Senator Enwe has supported local development by empowering youths and encouraging economic activities that can help rebuild communities affected by the crisis especially with the donation of 45 brand new motorcycles to the young people of Widikum.
The recognition by Lifetime Newspaper therefore stands as a symbol of his ongoing efforts to restore stability and promote development in the region.
As communities in Momo Division continue to recover, many see this award not just as a personal achievement, but as a sign that peace efforts are making an impact.
For Senator Enwe Francis Abi, however, the journey is far from over. His message remains clear- peace must be sustained, and development must follow.
He won the award in the Gold category.
