The council also made strides in infrastructure and basic services, notably extending electricity to GRA Fundong and Ngwah, constructing a borehole at Fundong Centre, and rehabilitating multiple water supply schemes across communities such as Akeh, Ilung, Achain, Boyui, Ebosung, and Njinijua-Abuh.

Road infrastructure also received attention, with maintenance works carried out on the Isaibal–Mission Quarter road spanning 1.633km. Social infrastructure projects included the construction of an Integrated Health Centre, the development of the Fundong Amusement Park, and the building of a community hall at Atoini.

Despite these achievements, the mayor acknowledged that some projects remain incomplete. These include the construction of classrooms at GS Bolem, the Luh Community Hall (Phase 1), and a Youth Multipurpose Centre in Fundong. Ongoing rehabilitation works on the Bainjong water scheme and the Fundong–Ilung road (20km) were also noted, while the Fundong–Mentang road project is reportedly in the process of cancellation.

Looking ahead, Mayor Denis Asoh Ndang outlined plans for the 2026 financial year but cautioned that the successful execution of projects depends on a peaceful and stable environment. He called on councillors to act as ambassadors of peace within their respective communities to ensure continued development.

He also urged councillors to remain committed and uphold the progress achieved, while expressing appreciation for their collaboration and dedication.

Speaking as the supervisory authority, the Senior Divisional Officer for Boyo, Menyong Gilbert Sunday, commended councillors for their maturity during the scrutiny of the council’s accounts. He also called on them to intensify community sensitization ahead of upcoming census operations and emphasized the importance of political preparedness for future legislative and municipal elections.

The SDO encouraged councillors to consolidate their achievements and make effective use of the mandate extension to strengthen their performance and maintain their positions.

The session ended on a note of optimism, with local authorities reaffirming their commitment to sustainable development and good governance in Fundong Municipality.
