CPDM Mezam IV Section President, Ngwakongoh Lawrence celebrating with Party faithfuls

The Section President of CPDM Mezam IV Bafut, Ngwakongoh Lawrence has called on the population to embrace peace, development, and unity as the party marked its 41st anniversary in Bamenda.

Speaking during the party's celebrations after the main event at the Bamenda Congress Hall on March 24, 2026, Ngwakongoh Lawrence said the day was not just about marking the birth of the party, but celebrating the values of peace and development brought by the CPDM under the leadership of President Paul Biya.

He noted that since its creation on March 24, 1985, in Bamenda, the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement has grown to become one of the most powerful and influential political parties in the country.

According to him, the party has recorded significant achievements over the years, holding key positions in government and playing a central role in the development of Cameroon.

In Bafut, Ngwakongoh Lawrence said the population gathered to celebrate what he described as visible progress in the subdivision.

“We are celebrating peace and development,” he said, adding that Bafut has witnessed positive change in recent years.

He highlighted improvements in areas such as road infrastructure, water supply, electricity, and education, noting that these developments have given the subdivision a new face.

Comparing past and present leadership, he stated that within six years of CPDM leadership in Bafut, more progress has been recorded than in the previous decades under the Social Democratic Front (SDF).

He encouraged those who are not yet members of the party to join, saying that the CPDM remains the path to peace and development in the subdivision.

Potential voters entering their names on the electoral register

Ngwakongoh Lawrence also used the occasion to call on the population to register on the electoral roll, reminding them that officials of ELECAM are available across Bafut to assist those who have not yet registered.

He assured the population that anyone facing difficulties in the registration process can reach out to him or other party officials for assistance.

According to him, registering to vote is not just a civic duty but a way of contributing to the development and future of Bafut.
