Tubah DO Drums Up School Enrolment, Applauds Technical Students’ Skills at Youth Day Launch

The Divisional Officer for Tubah, Massango Metougue Narcisse has officially launched activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the youth day in Tubah.

Launched on Friday 6th February 2026, the Divisional Officer used the launch to call on all parents and guardians resident within Tubah subdivision to send their children to school after a marvelous display from students of the various technical colleagues that make up Tubah.

"The train is waiting for no one. The parents should believe in our educational system. They're challenges and within the available means, we were able to ensure that these children go to school and we were able to have a 100 percent in over three schools. We want to beacon on them to give these youths a chance so they can witness such activities just like their peers of other towns who without fear or hinderance have been carrying out such activities." Massango said.





Exhibition by technical school students 

In a proud tone, students from GTHS Kedjom Ketinguh showcased what they have learnt in the electricity and building construction departments. Displaying gates that can be controlled using the remote, a lighting system to indicate at the Secretariat of an official when he is present, busy or not in the office to the amusement of the public.

Their counterparts of GTHS Bambui and GTC Ntigi also showcased different lighting patterns that improves the security of persons as well as make life easier.

"School is a good thing. One of the students said,  "I urge you parents to send your children to technical school because we don't just hear, we do. All what we have presented here, if you need it in your homes or offices, we can deliver." He ended.



Youth empowerment centre 

The exhibition at the launch of the youth day in Tubah also saw the youths of the Youth empowerment centre explain what they do. Natural juice, various designs of the North West traditional Regalia were presented. Also pastries were  presented to the amusement of all. 

To the Divisional officer, the centre runs professional programs like aesthetics and beauty, and other departments and he believes that if young people without any educational background come to the centre, they will be able to produce something or make a living out of what they learn from the centre.

In prelude to the youth day, the centre will project policies and instruments that the government is using to foster their empowerment in the various fabrics of national life especially in agriculture and livestock.




School authorities 

Other activities in the build up to the day will be the camp fire which gives young people the opportunity to share success stories.

The launching was also witnessed by Ghejung Awunti, Commissioner for Economic Development at the North West Regional Assembly who was very proud of the presentations done by the kids and expressed his gratitude to the teachers for their steadfastness.

The 2026 edition of the youth day will take place on Wednesday 11th February 2026 under the theme; "Youth at the heart of great hopes, for a united, stable and prosperous Cameroon."
