The third edition of the Mbonbuuh Ntsuabuh Sports Jamboree has ended, and Kitchen Magic FC are the new champions.
The final match was played on Sunday, January 4, 2025, at the Sacred Heart School field. Kitchen Magic FC and Kennedy FC drew 2–2 at full time, and Kitchen Magic won on penalties 9–8.
Six teams took part in the tournament, which began in November. A total of 1 million francs was shared among the winners and participating teams.
The tournament coordinator, Nche Edwin, said the main goal of the event was to bring young people together and promote unity in the Nnam area. He added that working together helps build a strong and peaceful community.
"This jamboree was aimed at uniting the youths, especially those in the Nnam zone. It reminds us that despite our differences, we share common goals and responsibilities. Collaboration and cooperation are essential to building a strong and vibrant community." the coordinator said.
During the event, rice, soap, books, and financial support were also given to students, widows, and widowers. Some mothers received fertilizers donated by the Mayor of Bamenda II. Speaking on behalf of the Mayor, Ndoh Akenji said the donation would help improve farm harvests in Ntsuabuh this year.
The Ntsuabuh community also plans to build a modern public toilet at the junction to stop people from urinating in open spaces and to raise funds for development projects. They also hope to create a community water scheme to reduce water shortages.
With the success of this year’s edition, the Mbonbuuh Ntsuabuh Sports Jamboree has once again proven to be more than just a football tournament. It stands as a unifying platform that promotes sportsmanship, community solidarity, and social support for vulnerable groups. As preparations begin for the next edition, organizers and residents alike remain hopeful that the initiative will continue to grow, strengthen partnerships, and contribute meaningfully to development within the Ntsuabuh community.
