Tubah Council Approves Record 6.5 Billion Budget, Powered by Austrian Partnership

The Municipality of Tubah has adopted a record-breaking budget which is balanced in income and expenditure at 6.5 billion Francs for 2026. The largest budget ever voted in the history of the council.

The budget was voted during the council's budget session, held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at ICHAM Hotel in Bambili.

The 2026 budget witnesses an increase from the 838 million Francs budgeted in 2025 to 6.5 billion francs in 2026.

The budget as explained by the council will be gotten from the Public Investment budget, the council support fund for mutual assistance ( FEICOM), the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) and internally generated revenue. These sources of income will amount to some 1.1 billion francs.

The rest of the 5.5 billion Francs is thanks to a convention signed between the Tubah Council and the Austria government. The entire envelope stands at over
18.5 billion and for the first year, the council will benefit 5.5 billion francs, to execute key developmental projects within the Tubah Municipal Council area.

With the programmed budget now in place, the council is expected to budget for the remaining 13 billion francs in the next two years.

Speaking at the session, the Mayor of Tubah, Tanjong Martin Mushongo outlined the ambitious development plan of the council, which includes the construction of bridges, revitalization of coffee production across Tubah, road grading, and the establishment of a Tubah community radio station, a technical center, and a shopping mall in Bambui.

"The budget of Tubah Council is expected to do a lot of transformation within the municipality in 2026," said Mayor Tanjong. "We are going to do a lot more as we continue with the Tubah-Austria Convention and others in the coming years." The Mayor added.

Some of the major projects earmarked for implementation include:

- The construction of bridges to improve transportation networks
- The introduction and revitalization of coffee production in Tubah
- The grading of roads to enhance accessibility
- The construction of Tubah Community Radio to promote local communication
- The construction of a Technical Center to boost skills development
- The construction of a shopping Mall in Bambui to stimulate economic growth


The budget session was also attended by the Divisional officer for Tubah, Massango Metougue Narcisse who sat in for the SDO of Mezam. He saluted the partnership with the Austrian government and called on the council to source for more mutually beneficial partnerships to meet the demands of the population.

The Tubah Municipal Council is optimistic that this massive budget projection will transform the municipality, creating a more prosperous and sustainable future for its residents.
