Prof Fru Angwafo III re-elected President of North West Regional Assembly

Prof Fru Angwafo III has been re-elected as President of the North West Regional Assembly.

Prof Fru Angwafo who led the lone list secured 88 of the 90 valid votes cast. 

He will lead the executive arm of the region for the next five years to advance the living standards of the inhabitants of the North West.

Speaking shortly after his election, Prof Fru Angwafo said; "You have given us your trust. We will not disappoint you.

"One hand cannot tie a bundle we, the executive will execute what you the assembly deliberate and in our function we will look for avenues and means to execute projects in our communities.

"To the Fons, we are here for you. With your dedication and beliefs, nothing can befall the North West. 

"To the Divisional Representatives, work to identify the specificities that make us who we are. We will reinforce community dialogue through the peace and development initiative. We are ready to dialogue with all." Prof Fru Angwafo III said.

Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique 

While congratulating the members for a well thought out exercise, the  Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele Lafrique said "your re-election means you have earned the trust of the people of the North West. You stood tall to defend the interest of the people and the region during your first mandate. The North West Regional Assembly has always been the pacesetter. You have given a name to the peace process." Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique said.

He also called on the newly elected to collaborate with the state to wipe out terrorism, stating that "they're trying to distort the easy life of our population and it is the last kick of a dying horse."

Members of the Regional Executive Council 

The North West Regional Assembly is made up of 8 members. Of the Eight members, four from the maiden mandate were maintained and four new faces entered the executive.
