TICAD-9: PM Dion Ngute Reviews Bilateral Relations With Tunisian Counterpart

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute; personal representative of President Paul Biya, and Tunisian PM, Sara Zaafarani have reviewed bilateral relations and  explored ways to boost cooperation between both countries.

The talks took place on the sidelines of the ongoing Tokyo International Conference on African Development, TICAD-9, in Japan.

The high-level meeting which took place at the request of the Tunisian PM provided both personalities with a valuable platform to comprehensively discuss and strengthen bilateral relations between Cameroon and Tunisia.

The audience underscores the growing diplomatic cooperation between both nations within the broader framework of African continental integration.

The meeting comes as the three-day TICAD-9 conference officially opened today in Yokohama. It has brought together African leaders, development partners, and private sector stakeholders.



This year's conference theme is: co-creating innovative solutions with Africa in the field of Infrastructure." The theme highlights Japan's continued commitment to African Development.

Biya's Envoy, Dion Ngute, is also expected to use the visit to  stimulate a greater interest of the Japanesse Private sector to invest into the Cameroon.

Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute during the conference will advocate for support from the Japanese government to continue funding projects and mechanisms that have already borne fruits over the years.



            About  TICAD 2025

 

TICAD 2025 will take place in Yokohama from August 20 to 22 2025. The conference is co-hosted by the Government of Japan, the United Nations, UNDP, the World Bank and the African Union Commission. The 9th edition will principally focus on three key areas that is: promoting robust and sustainable economic growth in Africa; fostering inclusive and resilient African society and encouraging peace and stability across the continent. TICAD has been in place since 1993.
