Journalism Groupings Frown at Attempted kidnap of Choves Loh

The Cameroon  Journalists Trade Union NW, SNJC, The Cameroon Association of English Speaking Journalists, CAMASEJ NW, and the Cameroon Community Media Network, CCMN have in three separate releases condemn the attempted kidnap of senior Journalist Choves Loh

The North West Regional chief of Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation (SOPECAM) was attacked at home by three unidentified men at about 6:30PM, Wednesday April 8

CCMN has pointed an accusing finger on separatists Fighters who are renowned in acts of kidnaps. The attention of the leaders of the armed struggle that has lingered for more than three years in the English speaking regions of Cameroon have been drawn

The Journalists Trade Union considers the attack an attack on  press freedom. The President, Bakah Derick has prescribed black arm bands to be worn from Monday April 13th to Friday April 17th 2020

Choves Loh is considered a pillar of Journalism in the North West Region and is former President of CAMASEJ NW

The unidentified men successful made way with his family car while he sustained injuries during the process

In the last one year not fewer than four Journalists have been abducted across the North West Region
