University of Garoua Partners with Mobile Money Corporation to Digitize Tuition Payments

In an innovative move aimed at modernizing its administrative services, the University of Garoua has signed a partnership agreement with Mobile Money Corporation (MMC) to integrate the MoMo platform for tuition payment.

The signing ceremony, held this Tuesday, was attended by Professor Boubakari Oumarou, Rector of the University of Garoua, and Alain Claude Nono, CEO of MMC. The initiative aims to facilitate and secure the payment of registration fees and other examination-related expenses, providing students with a practical and efficient solution.

The MoMo platform will now allow students to make payments in just a few simple steps: by visiting the university's website, entering their registration number, selecting their type of payment, and validating their transaction via MoMo, they will receive an immediate certified digital receipt. This innovation addresses the growing need for simplification in administrative processes and efficiency.

According to university authorities, this project represents a significant advancement in financial transparency and budget management. It is also expected to improve transaction traceability and reduce risks associated with manual payment handling. By minimizing wait times and necessary travel for payments, the university hopes to encourage rapid adoption of this system among students.

The launch of this initiative follows a series of meticulous technical tests, which included verifying the integration between the university’s platform and MoMo, simulating payment processes, and training administrative teams. These steps ensured the system's compliance with modern operational standards.

Alain Nono emphasized his company’s commitment to contributing to the development of the educational sector by providing students with a reliable and practical means to manage their academic obligations. The Rector further stated that the digitization of payments represents a decisive step toward a more modern institution that is closer to its students.

The University of Garoua views this partnership as a crucial lever for enhancing university governance, aligning its model with the national strategy for digital transformation in higher education.

With this new collaboration, the University of Garoua is not just following the digital trend; it positions itself as a leader in the field of education, shaping a more inclusive and accessible future for all its students.
