Members of Ntambeng Cooperative Credit Union Limited have applauded the Board of Directors headed by Ndonwi Derick for a marvelous job done in 2025.

The members unanimously adopted the accounts of the union at the 58th Annual General Assembly Meeting which took place on Sunday 22nd February 2026 at Ntambeng.

Amongst the numerous achievements listed, the union was able to mobilize 3,557 New members, bringing total membership to 37,411. This signifies continuous trust in the union according to the President of the Board of Directors.

The balance sheet of the union expanded to 4.6 billion Francs FCFA, reflecting the institution's sustained financial footprint.

Shares grew from 396 million FCFA to 458.3 million FCFA. For savings, it increased significantly from 2.9 billion to 3.6 billion FCFA. As for deposits it increased by 21.7%. From 348 million to 444.2 million.

The loan portfolio of Ntambeng Cooperative Credit Union Limited rose from 2.9 billion to 3.3 billion Francs CFA.

As to what accounts to this growth, Ndonwi Derick Shu, President of the BoD said their strategy has been to return the credit union back to its core objectives.

"We are reshaping the mission of the credit union to align with the vision of its founders, going back to these original values is contributing significantly to the results we see today.

"NtamCCUL remains an exceptional credit union in the management of agricultural financing in Cameroon. I stand corrected, including managing a subsidy credit for agriculture. That is a very strong backbone because we are reshaping the mission of the credit unions to suit how the founders created it. Credit unions were meant to support grassroots families, those who don't have access to capital, those who don't have access to input to get closer to them, gather what they have built, like one body, share their savings as micro loans to support each other. I think that we're going back to these original values, and these values are contributing a lot to whatever result we have." Ndonwi Derick remarked.

Despite the successes recorded in 2025, NtamCCUL still suffers from loan delinquency. The delinquency rate increased from 35% to 37.3%. This increase is linked to the post electoral crisis recorded in the country which greatly affected the business climate. Members the President said have been cautioned to fulfill their engagements with the union going forward. Loan delinquency the Board said will be reduced to less than 20% in 2026, through strengthened credit monitoring, strategic recovery interventions and improved borrower engagement.

Ntambeng Cooperative Credit Union Limited also successfully secured the  land title for its head office and another landed property in the Bisquiterie neighborhood in Yaounde. The acquisition of these landed properties adds to the assets of the union.

The Board also informed its members that they will pay an interest rate of 4% on shares/savings amounting to 114.3 million Francs CFA.

With an increased in membership, shares/savings and deposits, NtamCCUL is increasing its operations through the acquisition of the Teksol software. According to the Board of Directors, there is a delay which stems from the umbrella organization, RECCU-CAM. Ndonwi Derick says this activity will be improved upon in 2026.

NtamCCUL now operates 13 branches and 5 counters and collection centres across 9 regions of the country.

"It's good for you to know that NtamCCUL is spread all over the national territory and it is also an objective for each branch of  NtamCCUL to attain some given results. So, we put up objectives and asked every concern to meet the results. So, we did radical mobilization. We did door-to-door talking. We most importantly offer services that attract more members to Ntambeng Cooperative Credit Union."

The members left the 58th Annual General Meeting with the intention of making NtamCCUL the most outstanding microfinance institution in Cameroon.
